About the opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing technology business building digital commerce platforms. They're looking for an experienced Senior Front-End Developer to help shape the customer-facing side of their products: building, refining and scaling web applications used by thousands of people every day.

Key responsibilities

Build and maintain robust, scalable front-end applications that give users a smooth, intuitive experience
Work closely with product owners, UI/UX designers and back-end developers to turn ideas and designs into working features
Set the standard for clean, maintainable code, and take part in peer code reviews to guide and support other developers
Keep up with new front-end tools, frameworks and security practices, and recommend improvements where they add value
Own your deliverables from concept to release, making sure work is delivered on time and to a high standard
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
At least 8 years of commercial front-end development experience
A strong track record of shipping production applications built with React and Type Script
Experience working hand in hand with designers to build accessible, user-friendly interfaces

Technical skills

In-depth React knowledge: hooks, state management and scalable component design
Solid grasp of responsive design, web accessibility and front-end performance tuning
Experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs
Working knowledge of front-end package and build tooling (e.g. Yarn)

Advantageous

Experience in online retail, supply chain/logistics or financial technology environments
