About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Fleet Operations Supervisor to manage their vehicle fleet and driver team in Pretoria . This hands-on role involves ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of all fleet operations, from maintenance scheduling to driver performance monitoring. You will be a key figure in maintaining the operational integrity of our client's delivery services within the Gauteng region.
This position requires a strong leader with excellent organizational skills and a deep understanding of fleet management best practices to support the daily functions of the transportation department .
- Supervise the daily activities of drivers and fleet support staff, ensuring adherence to schedules and company policies.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs, ensuring all vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
- Monitor driver performance, including driving habits, adherence to routes, and customer interaction, providing coaching as needed.
- Manage fuel consumption and implement strategies for cost-effective fleet operation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Respond to and manage any fleet-related incidents or emergencies efficiently and effectively.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within fleet management or transportation operations .
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and manage schedules, routes, and personnel effectively.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and MS Office applications.
