To ensure that the totes that have been processed by workflow have been picked according to priority, collection date and Province. To ensure that all the PMP in a group box belong to the Group as per manifest (QA check that the PMPs in the group box belongs to the allocated box by the QA Team). Assist replenishers and status 93.

Primary purpose of the job of a General Assistant

The primary purpose of the job is:

• Adherence to GPP, this includes housekeeping compliance.
• Picking a minimum of 500 totes per day
• Limiting picking errors to below 1.5% of your totes picked per month (write your name on each tote being picked)
• Picking according to priority (collection date & Province as per delegation by the workflow Team), or as instruction was given.
• Ensure correct PMP is in the correct group box (as per collection date & Province)
• Ensure that all the Empty boxes are flattened & correctly discarded in the waste cage provided by the Risk Team (no discarding of stock is allowed)
• Ensure the Shelves are neat, full & in order at all times
• Ensure professional dress code (comfortable for the Job specification)
• Ensure correct housekeeping rules are followed
• Avoid the use of cell phones while working
• Ensure that no Stock (Medication is lying on the floor) & picking boxes should not be on the floor
• Ensure training on how to operate pallet Jerk to move stock around production

Operational Management

Daily stats:

• Daily requirement of a general assistant clinical stats minimum of 500 totes per day.

Daily errors in picking:

• Limiting picking errors to below 1.5% of your totes picked per month to avoid unnecessary time wasted to fix the miss picks.
• Double totes found in one picking box.
• Incomplete picking of totes.

Paying attention to detail:

• The GA to ensure that the medication is picked according to the tote; this includes correct items, strength and quantity needed.
• Focus is crucial to ensure all information corresponds with the tote, if all is correct the parcels need to be put on the appropriate shelf.
• Ensure that you pick according to priority, or as instruction was given.

Processing of totes:

• A GA may take a maximum of one line of boxes and then pick it and only after picking.
• The GAwill be required to finish picking the totes before fetching more boxes.
• The picker may not start work and then leave the work and go out of the building.
• The GA must ensure that they have not left any boxes behind and what they have picked has been completed.
• There should be no boxes on the floor.
• No totes should be left by the computers.
• There are allocated personnel who do housekeeping on a daily basis.
• No medicine should be left on the floor.

Stock take

Responsible to ensure the prepping/ counting:

• The counting of all the bins
• Ensure correct stock is in correct bin
• Ensuring all of the stock is packed away and binned accordingly
• Ensure correct counting of each stock item

Ad Hoc Task

To assist with:

• Complete all ad hoc tasks that are given ensuring that it is completed in the time requirement that was given.
• Sending of members to assist in department where assistance is required.

Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical/ Life Science
