Maintenance Worker​/Laborer

Overall Responsibility

This position requires a combination of landscaping skills, equipment operation, and occasional janitorial duties. The ideal candidate will be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Perform general landscaping tasks, including planting, mowing, trimming, weeding, and mulching.
• Operate landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of outdoor spaces and facilities.
• Perform sprinkler and waterline repairs.
• Maintain and prep sports fields.
• Fill in for janitorial staff as needed, which includes cleaning and sanitizing public areas, restrooms, and office spaces.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines when operating equipment and performing tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects and daily assignments on time.
• Assist with facility maintenance duties.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Communicate effectively, both written and oral.
• Self‑motivated.
• Convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly; able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• CDL is a plus; must be able to obtain a medical card.
• Must pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) background check.
• Previous experience in landscaping or general labor preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks in inclement weather.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

• Sufficient dexterity to regularly use hands and fingers to operate various types of tools and equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, twist, and climb.
• Perform light to strenuous physical/manual labor as required.
• Work indoors, outdoors, and on tops of buildings.
• Use safe lifting techniques to routinely lift/carry/push/pull 25‑pound objects and occasionally lift and move items up to 80 pounds.
• Perform work under various environmental conditions, including exposure to cold, heat, and inclement weather.
• Perform work at heights and/or within confined/cramped spaces.
• Work around moderate to high noise levels, vibrations, chemicals, dust, flammable materials, construction materials, mechanical equipment, and electrical hazards.
• Wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) including safety shoes, glasses/goggles, ear plugs, gloves, and other safety gear as needed.
