The community of Kindersley, located on the west side of the province of Saskatchewan, is actively recruiting a family medicine physician with enhanced anesthesia skills to support anesthesia needs in Kindersley. In addition to providing 1 - 2 days/week of anesthesia services as a 0.5 FTE, the successful candidate has the opportunity to provide additional services such as community primary health care, inpatient and long-term care, and emergency room.
As a member of the surgical services team, the candidate will provide their equitable share of an on-call services for anesthesia services in a 1:5 rotation. Candidates will also have the opportunity to mentor medical students training in Kindersley.
Kindersley is a vibrant community located in the west central part of Saskatchewan, close to parks and lakes and numerous recreational activities. It is located along Highway 7, the third most travelled highway in Saskatchewan, and a major east-west corridor linking Calgary and Saskatoon. Agriculture, oil and gas are main industries. Kindersley's small-town atmosphere, ample employment opportunities, and community vitality make it a great location for people of any age to live, work and raise a family.
RelocationPackage
The successful candidate may be eligible for:
- Recruitment and Relocation incentive of $15,000.00 for 3 years return of service to new physicians willing to relocate to Kindersley.
- The Family Medicine Resident Bursary Program which provides up to a maximum of $75,000 over three years to family medicine residents, and those pursuing R3 programs who will work full-time in rural, regional, or northern Saskatchewan
- The SMA Retention Fund , which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $7,000 - $14,000 per year
- The successful candidate must possess a Diploma in Anesthesia or have completed an additional year of Anesthesia training post Family Medicine Residency certification or be eligible for certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada
- Successful Saskatchewan health Authority (SHA) credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector
Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage.
