Communications 197 Helping Skills (15 hours) and Communications 291
- Interpersonal Communications (30 hours) for the CCA program in Prince Albert.
Qualifications: The instructor qualifications needed for teaching communications is preferred Master of Communication degree or Master of Arts (English or Communication major), will accept a four‑year Bachelor of Communications degree or a BA (English or Communications major) or BEd (English or Communications major).
Responsibilities: To provide planning, instruction, marking and student support for adult students in the two communications classes. Must work well on a team and communicate with the lead instructor about scheduling, student progress and marks. Classes are described as follows:
- COMM 197 – Helping
Skills:
Apply communication skills to facilitate a helping relationship with clients, their families, significant others, other health care staff, and various other professionals. - COMM 291 – Interpersonal Communications: Develop employability skills through the study of interpersonal communications theory and applications in the workplace. Learning outcomes include the importance of self‑awareness and self‑esteem, perception problems, verbal and nonverbal messages, listening skills, creating positive communication climates and resolving interpersonal conflict.
This is a sessional position, with a sessional pay rate: $65/hour. The sessional position will have 45 hrs of instructing time and 15 hrs of prep and marking.
Remuneration: $65.00 per hour
Location: Prince Albert, SK
Term: September 2025 – January 2026 (60 hours)
