Position: Middle Years & High school Math/Science Coordinator

MIDDLE YEARS & HIGH SCHOOL MATH/SCIENCE COORDINATOR

(Term Contract April 2026 – December 2026)

The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) serves four schools in the three northern Saskatchewan Denesuline First Nations communities of Black Lake, Fond du Lac and Hatchet Lake and has its Central Office located in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

The ADEA is seeking an innovative and strategic individual for the temporary full-time position of a Middle Years and High School Math/Science Coordinator, to be based at its Central Office. Reporting to the Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, the position will:

  • Provide leadership with regard to all Authority math and science programming.
  • Work collaboratively with ADEA senior administration and school-based staff to plan, implement, and monitor appropriate middle years and high school evidence-based numeracy instructional and assessment practices, resources, and technology applications.
  • Work collaboratively with ADEA senior administration and school-based staff to plan, implement, and monitor appropriate middle years and high school evidence-based science instructional and assessment practices, resources, and technology applications.
  • Provide in-service to teachers in math and science across the Authority.
  • Train and support school-based math catalyst teachers.
  • Prepare and provide virtual training and online courses for teachers and students.
  • Prepare and present reports monitoring program implementation and student results.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets to support numeracy/science programming.
Qualifications
  • A Saskatchewan Professional Teaching Certificate.
  • A Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction or a relevant field is an asset.
  • Extensive experience in numeracy and science instruction and leading multi-site/regional numeracy and science initiatives.
  • A strong commitment to First Nations education.
  • Knowledge of Denesuline language and culture is an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and motivate staff toward shared goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to take initiative.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
