The Dumont Technical Institute, a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research, invites applications for the following position:
Sessional Communications Instructor – Continuing Care

Communications 197 Helping Skills (15 hours) and Communications 291
- Interpersonal Communications (30 hours) for the CCA program in Prince Albert.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Master of Communication degree or Master of Arts (English or Communication major), will accept a four-year Bachelor of Communications degree or a BA (English or Communications major) or
B.Ed (English or Communications major).
Responsibilities: To provide planning, instruction, marking and student support for adult students in the two communications classes. Must work well on a team and communicate with the lead instructor about scheduling, student progress and marks.

Skills:
You will apply communication skills to facilitate a helping relationship with your clients, their families, significant others, other health care staff, as well as various other professionals. - Interpersonal Communications:
You will develop employability skills through the study of interpersonal communications theory and applications in the workplace. Learning outcomes include the importance of self-awareness and self-esteem, perception problems, verbal and non-verbal messages, and listening skills, creating positive communication climates and resolving interpersonal conflict. - In person instruction is preferred.
Remuneration: $65.00 per hour
