POSITION SUMMARYReporting to the Regional Director/CEO, the Community Services Librarian is a permanent, full-time position that assists in the planning, implementation, and management of region-wide library services, with a focus on Collections Development and Management, and Programming.
DUTIES- Collections development and management, selecting and ordering materials, oversight of materials spending timelines and materials budgets, statistical reporting.
- E-Resources implementation, training, marketing, troubleshooting, evaluation, statistical reporting.
- Branch Library Liaison, collaborate and consult with branch libraries around programming, fundraising, problem solving. Develop and deliver branch staff training.
- Programming development and delivery, including development and maintenance of Programming Kits, coordinate annual region-wide programming initiatives and events.
- Grant Funding. Seek out and monitor grant opportunities, write proposals and solicit partnerships, selection and supervision of grant employees, administration of and reporting for received grants.
- Shared responsibility for Wapitis social media and web presence.
- ALA accredited MLS/MLIS degree.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the public, staff, and external agencies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, particularly public speaking and presentation skills.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Valid Drivers license and Driving Record. Travel is a requirement for this position.
- Experience working as a professional librarian.
- Experience with integrated library systems preferred, particularly Polaris and Polaris Leap platform.
- Experience with collections development and management.
