Director PMO

We are seeking a Director PMO to lead and build Blaize’s Program Management and Business Operations Office. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role responsible for driving strategic programs, improving operational discipline, and ensuring accountable execution across the company.
You will bring both strategic thinking and hands-on project management expertise, helping align business priorities, track execution rigorously, and coach teams to deliver results. You’ll build out the PMO/Biz Ops function from the ground up, acting as a force multiplier across departments.

• Lead the PMO function to manage key cross-company initiatives, from planning through execution and reporting.
• Drive operational discipline and accountability by implementing tools, processes, and cadences to ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-scope delivery.
• Partner with executives and functional leads to identify, scope, and prioritize strategic programs and initiatives.
• Coach and develop project managers and initiative leads, fostering a high-performance project culture with clarity, accountability, and follow-through.
• Create visibility for leadership and the board via dashboards, reporting, and communications around strategic initiatives, risks, and execution health.
• Optimize resource allocation and dependencies across projects to ensure strategic alignment and minimal friction.
• Implement project governance best practices, including standardized planning templates, milestone tracking, risk management, and retrospectives.
• Build a culture of clarity, ownership, and results across teams through collaboration, coaching, and process maturity.

• Strategic initiatives are clearly scoped, tracked, and delivered on schedule
• Executives have consistent visibility into key cross-functional programs
• Teams are empowered and accountable with clear roles, milestones, and outcomes
• PMO function is seen as a value-driving enabler, not just process police
• Improved operating rhythm, better cross-team alignment, and predictable execution

• 10+ years of project/program management experience, including 5+ in a PMO or Biz Ops leadership role
• Proven success building or scaling a PMO function in a tech company (ideally hardware, semiconductors, or AI/ML)
• Deep understanding of project governance, frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), tools (Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.)
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, structure complex problems, and lead change
• Experience coaching and mentoring teams in best-in-class PM practices
• Strong business acumen and ability to partner with senior leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification is a plus
