We’re looking for a data annotation specialist to support the improvement of our large language models. This is a part‑time independent contractor position based in Canada, requiring a minimum of 16 hours per week at a rate of 30 CAD per hour for a 12‑month contract.

• Label and rank machine‑learning data with advanced proficiency in German, ensuring data integrity and quality.
• Audit and correct inaccuracies in language data, including text, images, JSON, TSV/CSV and Markdown.
• Complete reading and text‑based assignments with high attention to detail.
• Evaluate preference‑based tasks, selecting responses in German that best conform to project guidelines.
• Recommend optimizations to improve data quality and model performance in German language tasks.
• Collaborate and provide feedback to cross‑functional team members.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail while performing repetitive and precise tasks.

• Native or near‑native proficiency in German; excellent command of English.
• Strong reading and writing skills; will be assessed on a written test.
• Basic familiarity with JSON, TSV, CSV, and Markdown data manipulation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work.
• Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, and work independently.
• Excellent time‑management and sense of urgency.
• Curiosity about technology and a knack for creative problem‑solving.
• Reliable laptop (BYOD).

Independent contractor; you control how you complete work and may work with multiple clients. No health benefits or other employee benefits. Compensation is invoiced per the independent contractor agreement. Work is project‑based; continuous work is not guaranteed.
