Janitor (for Remote Northern SK Mine Sites)

Reporting to the janitorial manager, this position is responsible for janitorial duties at remote northern sites, such as mining facilities and exploration camps. Duties must be completed in accordance with contract standards & specifications.

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors.
• Dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, and area rugs.
• Clean and sanitize all areas as assigned.
• Collect garbage.
• Clean assigned areas, including office complexes and other buildings.
• Follow ACLP policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Shift work is required; schedules are 2‑week in‑and‑out rotations.

Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Candidates with a valid Class 5 driver’s license will be given preference.

• Ability to work in a fast, thorough, efficient manner with attention to detail.
• Grade 10 education would be an asset.
• One year of janitorial experience is preferred.
• A suitable combination of education & experience will also be considered.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid first aid certificate.
• Ability to perform janitorial duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Knowledge of safety procedures associated with working with hazardous products, including WHMIS.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Physically able to perform the assigned duties.
• A valid Class 5 Drivers License with an acceptable driver abstract is preferred.
