Overview
Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Full-Time Fireplace Service Technician onsite at our Homes by Lake Country location in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. If you are looking to use your industry knowledge and mechanical skills to take our installations to the next level, Lake Country Co-op is looking for you! As a Fireplace Service Technician, you will serve as the key contact for customers undertaking residential or commercial fireplace installations.
This role is responsible for the professional installation, maintenance, and repair of fireplace units and related components. The ideal candidate has technical experience, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and code compliance.

- Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles with a strong customer-focused approach.
- Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
- Collaborate with the Homes by Lake Country sales team to conduct seamless fireplace installations and maintenance.
- Install new fireplace systems (gas, wood and pellet) according to manufacturer specifications, local codes and company standards.
- Service and repair existing fireplace units, including venting systems, controls, and safety devices.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical or operational issues efficiently.
- Ensure all installations and repairs meet code requirements and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Educate customers on proper use and maintenance of their fireplace system.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of parts/materials.
- Stay current on new fireplace models, technologies, and building code changes.
- Adhere to Safety Management and Asset Protection systems, policies, procedures, records, and training requirements.

- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in fireplace installations, plumbing, or gas fitting preferred.
- Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry and specialization in fireplace installations and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to fireplace installation and maintenance.
- Well organized, able to work independently, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Willing to obtain Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) Certification; training will be provided to successful applicant.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively using multiple channels.
- Attention to detail; precision and accuracy as core values.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; comfortable using hand, diagnostic and power tools.
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems effectively.
- Flexible schedule; some evenings and weekends and overnights may be required.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks common to construction, including heavy lifting, working at heights, and in dusty spaces in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license (class 5 minimum) for regular day travel.
