Hydrovac Operator

Overview

Forbes Bros Ltd. is looking for a skilled, full-time, permanent Hydrovac Operator (full-time, permanent) to join our growing team supporting our projects based out of the Prince Albert, SK region.

The Hydrovac Operator will require successful candidates to safely operate and maintain Vacuum/Hydrovac trucks as required at multiple projects and work sites. The ideal candidate would possess working experience operating Vacuum/Hydrovac trucks in addition to experience within the construction industry. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and policies, equipment maintenance, and working in various weather conditions and environments.

• Responsible for preforming pre & post trip inspections, roadside repairs, and general clean-up of units
• Drives and operators hydrovac units to complete tasks associated with day lighting, excavation, trenching & shorting
• Rigging in and rigging out of equipment, hoses, fittings, pipes, etc., as per job specification
• Complete all required paperwork daily
• Provide hands-on assistance to crew members as required
• Read and understand drawings & making calculations and adjustments in grades
• Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned

• Class 3 driver's license with airbrake endorsement,
  is required
• General knowledge of the principals involved in the operation of construction, boring/directional drilling and underground utilities considered an asset
• Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) certification,
  an asset
• Ground Disturbance Level II,
  an asset
• Ability to work in field/site with travel and work hour flexibility to accommodate to remote/site work schedule
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
• Able and willing to present an acceptable five (5) year drivers abstract
