The Ministry of Community Safety is seeking dedicated individuals for permanent part-time Facility Youth Worker opportunities at the Prince Albert Youth Residence. This rewarding role supports youth offenders aged 12 to 17 by promoting accountability, rehabilitation and positive change while maintaining a safe and secure environment. Successful candidates will receive a paid 11-week Induction Training Program and work as part of a team focused on youth development and public safety.
The ideal candidate is accountable, adaptable, inclusive and committed to public service excellence. You will be comfortable working with youth from diverse backgrounds, including those affected by trauma and special needs, and possess strong communication, teamwork, decision‑making and interpersonal skills.
Candidates must have knowledge of the Canadian criminal justice system and human behaviour. A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers Licence (or equivalent) and valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification are required. Relevant qualifications may include a degree in the social sciences, a law enforcement diploma, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and security of youth offenders, providing assessment, counselling, case management and program delivery services, supporting rehabilitation goals, evaluating risk and responding appropriately to incidents.
