What You'll Do- Provide day-to-day care, support and therapeutic intervention to youth in a residential setting.
- Develop and implement engaging activities that promote personal growth, cultural awareness, and community involvement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every young person feels valued and respected.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to create individualized care plans.
- Be a role model and mentor, guiding youth through life's challenges and celebrating their successes.
- Other tasks as needed.
- Post-secondary Education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Previous experience working with youth in a care or support role.
- Understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and issues affecting Indigenous communities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with youth, families, and team members.
- Ability to build trusting relationships, show empathy, and provide emotional support.
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and find constructive solutions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C Certification
- Recent Criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening.
- Valid Class 5, Novice 2, or Higher Drivers License
