We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and dependable ADDICTION PROGRAM FACILITATOR to support parents participating in a family reunification program.
This position will provide education, guidance, and practical skills to help parents address substance use, strengthen their parenting abilities, develop healthy coping strategies, and build the skills necessary for successful family reunification.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in Addiction, recovery, family services, social services, education, counselling, or a related field.
- Knowledge and understanding of substance use, addiction, recovery and relapse prevention.
- Experience working with parents, families, or individuals facing complex life circumstances.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to create positive and respectful learning environments.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate, patient, culturally respectful, and non judgmental approach.
Key program topics:
Addiction and substance use, recovery and relapse prevention, grief and loss, parenting skills and positive parenting strategies, life skills, anger management and emotional regulation, domestic violence awareness and healthy relationships, developing stability, routines, and healthy lifestyles, goal setting, communication and conflict resolution, and many more.
