The Ministry of Highways is seeking a motivated and organized seasonal Assistant Sign Truck Operator to support the Provincial Sign Crew and Pavement Marking Program. This position contributes to maintaining safe and efficient provincial highways through pavement marking, sign installation, traffic control, and roadway maintenance activities. The role involves extensive travel and may require being away from home for up to five days per week.

Responsibilities include

• operating heavy, medium, and light-duty equipment used for highway, airport, sign installation, and pavement marking operations
• performing seasonal highway maintenance and winter snow and ice control activities
• conducting equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
• assisting with traffic control and work zone setup
• installing signage
• monitoring safety compliance
• documenting incidents and operational activities
• maintaining equipment and material records
• and assisting with crew coordination, task assignment, and quality control
