The TeamThe team of administrative assistants are primarily responsible for providing administrative, secretarial, and clerical support to the three Deputy Wardens and the Assistant Deputy Wardens of Staffing, Standards, Admission and Discharge, and front-line reception. The position may include rotation into other administrative Clerk 9 designated positions as and when required.
The RoleThe Administrative Assistant is an excellent opportunity to support the important work of BC Corrections by providing front-line reception, administrative, and confidential clerical services within a correctional centre. As part of a collaborative administrative team, you will assist leadership staff, manage communications and correspondence, and help ensure daily operations run smoothly while contributing to the care, supervision, and rehabilitation services that support safer communities across British Columbia.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation and six months of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience may include:
- Minimum keyboard speed of 30 words per minute.
Preferences may be given to applicants with:
- More than six months of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role.
- Completion of a post-secondary certificate, program or course in office administration.
- Experience working in an office setting providing services within the Justice System (Court Services, Correctional Centre, BC Prosecution Services, Youth Justice, legal office, justice focused non-profit).
- A valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license without restrictions or an equivalent Canadian driver’s license. A valid BC Class 7 may be considered.

About this Position:There are two (2) positions available: 1 permanent opportunity and 1 temporary opportunity. The temporary opportunity is until May 7, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies. This position has full time on-site requirements. Enhanced Security Screening will be required. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
