Construction Technologist

Position: Construction Technologist with BC Hydro
Join BC Hydro as a full-time Construction Technologist in Nanaimo, Surrey, Vernon, or Prince George. This role focuses on project estimation, cost analysis, and coordinating construction efforts.

In this position, you will prepare comprehensive cost estimates while collaborating with diverse project teams. Your work will include overseeing material quantity calculations, maintaining updated cost records, and providing technical coordination for construction activities. Candidates should hold a diploma or degree in a relevant field and possess at least five years of experience in construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and revise cost estimates and schedules

• Execute material quantity takeoffs and cost calculations

• Maintain project documentation and safety compliance

• Compare planned vs. actual project costs

• Provide technical guidance to field crews

Requirements:

• Diploma/degree in construction-related fields

• Minimum of five years construction experience

• Class 5 driver's license required

• Knowledge of construction standards and codes

• Strong leadership and communication abilities
