Job Title: Site Foreman - Civil (Temporary, ~2 Month Term)
Company: RAM Excavating Limited
Location: Quesnel, BC
Job Type: Temporary / Full-time - approximately 4 weeks
Pay: $40.00 per hour
Start Date: Immediate
RAM Excavating Limited is a civil construction company based in Quesnel, BC, with roots in the Cariboo going back to 1986. We build road and bridge infrastructure, municipal utilities, and site works for government, industrial, and commercial clients across Western Canada.
The RoleWe need an experienced civil foreman to run the crew on an active project for roughly the next 2 months. This is a hands-on leadership role - you'll be in the dirt with the crew, not watching from the truck. You'll be responsible for daily production, quality, and keeping the job moving alongside the other trades on site.
Day to day you'll be:
- Leading and directing the civil crew - assigning work, setting the pace, holding the standard
- Fine grading and subgrade preparation for asphalt paving
- Concrete works - forming and coordinating placing, and finishing
- Underground conduit installation, bedding, and backfill
- Setting and checking grades with a rotary laser or builder's level
- Coordinating daily with other trades, the GC, and site supervision
- Running FLHAs, toolbox talks, and daily reporting under our COR-certified safety program
- Tracking production, materials, and equipment needs so the crew never sits waiting
- Proven foreman or lead hand experience on civil construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of paving subgrade prep, concrete, and conduit installation
- Solid grade understanding - you must be able to shoot and set grade with a rotary laser or builder's level. This is non-negotiable for this role
- Ability to read civil drawings and translate them to the field
- Experience coordinating with other trades on a shared site
- Valid BC driver's licence (Class 5 minimum) and reliable transportation
- Ability to lead a crew and get production without drama
- Ability to run an excavator and skid steer
- GPS machine control or rover experience (Trimble, Topcon, Leica)
- Traffic Control (TCP) ticket
- OFA Level 1 or higher
- Experience on MoTI or municipal projects
- $40.00/hr, paid weekly
- Overtime available
- Small, experienced outfit - your decisions actually stick, no layers of red tape
- We're growing across BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Strong performers on term work are the first people we call when the next project lands, and we've hired permanently off temporary placements before
Pay: $40.00 per hour
