Counselor/0.12 ELL - Limited Duration Contract Teacher is required by School District No. 57 (Prince George). Applicants with assessment and trauma-informed practice experience are preferred. - Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).
- Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
- Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.
- A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies.
- Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation).
- The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting.
- Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum.
- Training and successful experience in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning.
- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
- Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum.
- The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community.
- A current, valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel as required.

- Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC;
Up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country. - Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 - $95,681. Salary is based on TQS and prior experience.
- Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in Dental, Extended Health, and Group Life Insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE.

About School District 57School District No.57 resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nations, McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Simpcw First Nations. Geographically we expand from Mackenzie, through Prince George, to McBride and Valemount. We serve 41 schools: 32 Elementary schools, 8 Secondary schools and 1 District Learning Support center for alternative and alternate learning opportunities.
