Position: Education Assistant 2 in Schools
Enhance student learning as an Education Assistant 2 with a focus on individual support in academic and behavioral areas. This 27.5-hour role involves assisting students under teacher direction.

The Education Assistant 2 at Schools provides crucial assistance to students, enabling them to succeed both academically and socially. Collaborating closely with teachers, you will help students with specific exercises, monitor behavior, and foster independence in life skills.

Your role includes addressing health procedures, communicating with parents, and documenting student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with daily hygiene, feeding, and positioning

• Support academic drills and note-taking activities

• Monitor behavior and intervene during unstructured times

• Help prepare instructional materials and supervise activities

• Participate in parent conferences and document observations

Requirements:

• Grade twelve education with six relevant college/university courses

• One year of experience with youth having exceptional needs

• Understand child-specific behavior management techniques

• Ability to communicate effectively in the language of instruction

• Maintain confidentiality and follow individualized education plans
