Promote educational success for Indigenous students as an Indigenous Education Specialist at Nechako Valley Secondary School, Vanderhoof, BC. Focus on academic support, graduation pathways, and community collaboration.

Set to start on September 1, 2026, this 0.50 FTE continuing position specializes in developing supportive programs that help Indigenous students achieve their academic goals. Collaborate with teachers and leverage community resources to track performance and implement effective learning strategies.

Your role will be pivotal in fostering a positive classroom atmosphere that embraces inclusivity and cultural relevance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with staff to support Indigenous learners

• Track and improve student attendance and achievement

• Develop tailored learning plans for graduate success

• Foster community partnerships to enhance support

• Utilize assessment tools appropriately

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary)

• Current BC teaching certification

• Expertise in a trauma-informed approach

• Strong understanding of BC Graduation Program

• Experience in differentiated instruction
