Position Description
A Hart Highlands School - 0.2 FTE - Gr. K-7 Music/Band prep - Continuing Contract Teacher is required by School District No. 57 (Prince George).

- Teach Grade K-7 Music and Band preparation as part of a continuing contract, at 0.2 FTE.
- Use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting.
- Integrate local Indigenous culture and traditions into the curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation).
- Incorporate experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum.
- Support social and emotional learning and develop a positive classroom learning environment with strong organization and classroom management.
- Collaborate effectively in a team setting and use technology in the curriculum.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the broader community.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required (current valid driver’s license).
- Must have or be eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch.
- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).
- Copy of letter from the TRB stating requirements to attain permanent certification status if certificate is conditional.
- Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
- Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.
- A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies.
- Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation).
- The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community.
- Commitment to and experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum.
- Demonstrated experience in creating a positive learning environment and strong organization and classroom management skills.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
- Evidence of knowledge of and ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and inclusive settings.
- Current, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

- Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC;
Up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country. - Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 - $95,681. Salary is based on TQS and prior experience.
- Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in Dental, Extended Health, and Group Life Insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE.
