Assignment: 1.0 Continuing Specialist Position
Assignments- Junior/Senior French
- Junior Humanities
- Bachelor of Education
- Minimum completion of 3rd and 4th year level university coursework necessary for teaching the secondary level curricula that are part of this assignment.
- A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.
- A degree or major in French is preferred.
- Fluency in French.
- Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior grade levels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning setting that engages students in active learning experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs.
- Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice.
- Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.
- Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.
- Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.
- Commitment to the BC Education Plan and goals of the education system.
- Support every child in learning at high levels.
- Work closely with parents/guardians, caregivers, and the broader community.
- Support the Board of Education Strategic Plan.
- Support equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning to strengthen student learning.
- Make evidence-based, collaborative decisions about student learning in a professional learning community environment.
- Support Individual Education Plans (IEP) in a collaborative team environment.
- Support the TRC Calls to Action.
- Integrate Indigenous culture and Ways of Knowing into curriculum and learning activities.
