Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education
  • Minimum completion of 3rd and 4th year level university coursework necessary for teaching the secondary level curricula that are part of this assignment.
  • A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.
  • A degree or major in French is preferred.
  • Fluency in French.
  • Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior grade levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning setting that engages students in active learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs.
  • Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice.
  • Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.
  • Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.
  • Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.
