Continuing Music Teacher

Position: Continuing Contract Music Teacher Needed
We are seeking a qualified Continuing Contract Teacher for Gr. K-7 Music/Band prep at Hart Highlands School in Prince George, within School District No. 57. Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in assessment and trauma-informed techniques.
This part-time (0.2 FTE) teaching position requires a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate. Applicants should demonstrate effective strategies for teaching and integrating local Indigenous culture into the curriculum. Collaboration skills and technology integration experience are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Music and Band prep to K-7 students

• Implement assessment strategies for diverse learners

• Incorporate local Indigenous knowledge into lessons

• Manage classroom effectively and maintain organization

• Establish relationships with students and families
Requirements:

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate

• Familiarity with core competencies and redesigned curriculum

• Experience in inclusive teaching strategies

• Knowledge of social and emotional learning practices

• Current driver’s license and willingness to travel
