Position: Teaching Principal for Lhoosk'uz School
Location: Quesnel

Lead educational excellence at Lhoosk'uz Dené Nation as a Teaching Principal. This role focuses on creating a personalized curriculum while managing daily school operations in a picturesque, close-knit community.

In this position, you will oversee a small school environment with 2 to 10 students. Your responsibilities include tailoring academic experiences, supporting emotional needs, and engaging with families and the local community. Through innovative curriculum development and dedicated management, contribute to a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere that respects Indigenous cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design personalized curriculum addressing varying student needs

• Conduct assessments and adapt teaching methods accordingly

• Maintain safety and operational standards at the school

• Collaborate with support staff for student resources

• Engage community and families through workshops and updates

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant field

• 5 to 7 years of experience in educational roles

• Valid B.C. Teaching Certificate and MECC Certificate

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Familiarity with Indigenous educational philosophies
