Assignment: 1.0 Continuing Specialist Position
- INCLUSIVE EDUCATION/PREP RELIEF TEACHER

Qualifications- Bachelor of Education
- Minimum completion of 3rd and 4th year level university course work is necessary.
- Completion or partial completion of a professional certification or university degree program in Special Education
- Training in functional behaviour assessment and behavioural intervention strategies.
- Training or experience in the Response to Intervention model of supporting students who require assistance with their learning.
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Experience in IEP / IBI case management and working with intensive behaviour students.
- A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.
- Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior/senior grade levels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs
- Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice.
- Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.
- Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.
- Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.
