Candidates must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and should have significant experience in Secondary Special Education. Successful resource teachers demonstrate the ability to work closely with other educators, assess student needs, and develop tailored learning plans. This role involves supporting curriculum access and promoting inclusive practices across various educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan curriculum access strategies for diverse learners

• Integrate technology effectively into teaching practices

• Maintain detailed records of services and progress

• Develop and assess Competency Based IEPs collaboratively

• Facilitate communication among educational teams

Requirements:

• BC Teaching Certificate in good standing

• Special Education major preferred

• Proven experience in a Secondary School setting

• Familiarity with assessment methods and requirements

• Commitment to School Growth and Positive Behaviour Support
