Position Description
Our District is seeking BC Certified Teachers Teaching on Call to be assigned to Limited Duration Contracts as TTOCs for the upcoming school year. Start and end dates of these contracts are negotiable. The location and subject area of the assignment will vary daily. These positions can be broken into multiple FTEs to accommodate people wishing to commit to less than 5 days per week.
Applicants must be certified to teach in a Canadian province or territory or have completed a Bachelor of Education Program or teaching certification program in Canada.
Applicants must be prepared to work on a casual on call basis in any school in the geographical area of Prince George which includes a radius of approximately 65 km (e.g., Blackburn, Buckhorn, Pineview, Hixon, Nukko Lake, Beaverly, etc.). A reliable vehicle/transportation is essential to this role.
Applicants with assessment and trauma-informed practice experience are preferred. Those with the necessary qualifications and strong references will be given preference. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, including Indigenous, Black, people of colour, all genders, 2

The successful applicant must have or be eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch, and possess:
- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).
- Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
- Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.
- A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies.
- Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation).
- The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting.
- Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum.
- Training and successful experience in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning.
- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
- Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum.
- The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community.
- A current, valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel as required.
- Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC; up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country.
- Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 - $95,681. Salary is based on TQS and prior experience.
- Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in Dental, Extended Health, and Group Life Insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE.
