: $64,341.00 – $ + $3,500 provincial recruitment and retention allowance
Assignment
: 1.0 Continuing Position – Middle Years Teacher
Teachers in the Middle Years Program will be expected to teach across all curriculum areas but may be assigned to teach in areas of specific curriculum strengths or interests. Specific assignment will be determined by the principal.
Qualifications- Bachelor of Education
- A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with the Ministry of Education and Childcare
- A degree or major in French language is preferred
- This position requires an individual who is fluent in French
- Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior grade levels
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences
- Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs
- Understand and use a trauma‑informed approach in professional practice
- Experience and knowledge using competency‑based assessment strategies
- Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student
- Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students
- Commit to the BC Education Plan and goals of the education system
- Support every child in learning at high levels
- Work closely with parents/guardians and caregivers and the broader community
- Support the Board of Education Strategic Plan
- Support equity, diversity and inclusion
- Pursue ongoing professional learning to strengthen student learning
- Make evidence‑based, collaborative decisions about student learning in a professional learning community environment
- Support Individual Education Plans (IEP) in a collaborative team environment
- Adhere to the TRC Calls to Action
- Integrate Indigenous culture and Ways of Knowing into curriculum and learning activities
