Position: Gr. K-7 Counselling at School District No. 57
We are looking for a Grade K-7 Counsellor for Ecole Lac des Bois as a 0.6 FTE (M/T/W). Focus on fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment using trauma-informed practices.

This position requires a continuing contract teacher passionate about helping students thrive. Applicants must hold a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate or proof of application and have experience with assessment strategies. The role emphasizes integrating Indigenous culture into teaching and creating engaging learning experiences for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement effective social and emotional learning practices

• Engage students with Indigenous cultures and traditions

• Cultivate a positive and organized classroom environment

• Team up with staff and the community for student support

• Leverage technology to facilitate learning

Requirements:

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate or proof of application

• Demonstrated experience in teaching practices

• Knowledge of assessment as and for learning

• Strong organizational and management skills

• Current driver's license and willingness to travel
