Position Elementary General Teacher
Assignment Elementary (K-7) . This position provides multi‑grade instruction in a remote school setting. Classroom teachers share each other’s preparation time according to the weekly roster, so the primary teacher may cover the intermediate teacher’s class and vice versa.

Basic Qualifications A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate, be in good standing with the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch, and possess one or more of the following:
Training specialization:
Elementary Education with specialization at the primary/intermediate level
Related teaching experience:
Recent successful experience teaching at the primary/intermediate level
Reasonable Expectation Based on a teacher’s skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
Additional Qualifications Not required for this posting.
Other Knowledge of First Nations culture and the ability to work in liaison with Nazko First Nations families and community
Experience in a collaborative learning model that includes teacher collaboration for planning literacy and numeracy and other subject areas, with a flexible learning model for learning blocks
Understanding of side‑by‑side reading, station learning for language development, math stations for independent learning
Ability to work with students using the Circle of Security and augmentative communication approaches is an asset
The annual salary for the full‑time teacher ranges from $64,901 to $116,190, with placement based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
