Junior School Teacher - temporary
Assignment
French Immersion, Career Education (Gr 8-9). This position involves teaching several subjects to the French Immersion class, which includes FRAL, PE, Careers and Sciences Humaines or Science. There are also some Core French 8 and 9 blocks. Each morning starts with a 20-minute advisory block with a smaller group of students.

Effective Dates
Commencing May 27, 2026 until June 30, 2026, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent, with the possibility of reduction in FTE.
Basic Qualifications
A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following.
Training Specialization
Secondary Education with major/minor in French Immersion
Related Teaching Experience
Recent successful experience teaching at the junior school level.
Reasonable Expectation
Based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
Additional Qualifications
Two or more courses at the 100 or 200 level in French Immersion
Fluency in English/French - oral/written.
Applicant must be willing to take a language proficiency test – oral and written.
Other Requirements
Commitment to the house-based team structure.
Fluent English and French speaker.
A portion of the interview may be conducted in French.
Salary and Benefits
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
