School:  Nechako Valley Secondary School – Vanderhoof, BC

Start Date:

September 1, 2026

Salary:  $64,341.00 - $ + $3,500.00 provincial recruitment and retention allowance

Assignment:  1.0 Continuing Position – Middle Years Teacher (across all curriculum areas, may be assigned to areas of specific strengths or interests)

Specific Assignment Determined by the Principal.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Education

A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.

Work with colleagues as part of a highly collaborative middle years team.

A degree or major in French language is preferred.

This position requires an individual who is fluent in French.

Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior grade levels.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences.

Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs

Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice.

Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.

Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.

Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.
