TEACHING VACANCY: POSTING NO. 54 – JUNE 9, 2026

School: Fort St. James Area, BC Start Date: September 1, 2026

Salary: $64,341.00 - $ + ($ provincial recruitment and retention allowance)
Assignment: .40 Continuing Position

  • Assignment includes regular substitute teaching work in the Fort St. James area
  • Must have access to reliable transportation

On days without teacher replacement work, the successful candidate will report to their home school (David Hoy Elementary School) and will be assigned teacher work at that site by the Principal.

Specific assignment to be determined by the Principal

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary).
  • A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.
  • Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at the junior/senior grade levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs.
  • Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice.
  • Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.
  • Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.
  • Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.
