Educator in Literacy and Community Programs

Take on a vital role in School District No. 57 as an Educator in Alternative Community Programs, dedicated to enhancing literacy and numeracy among students. Preference for experience in assessment and trauma-informed teaching.
As a limited-duration contract teacher, you will work with students in Grades 8-12, implementing diverse teaching strategies and integrating local Indigenous culture into the curriculum. Creating an inclusive learning environment that fosters student emotional and social development is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging literacy and numeracy instruction

• Implement assessment strategies to promote learning

• Facilitate learning experiences related to Indigenous culture

• Maintain a positive classroom and cohesive learning space

• Collaborate closely with fellow educators for student success
Requirements:

• Valid or eligible BC Teaching Certificate

• Experience incorporating trauma-informed practices

• Strong understanding of assessment for learning

• Effective organizational and classroom management skills

• Willingness to travel as required for the role
