Position: Secondary French/Humanities Teaching Role
Location: Vanderhoof

Nechako Valley Secondary School in Vanderhoof, BC, is seeking a French/Humanities Teacher to commence September 1, 2026. This full-time specialist position provides a unique opportunity to engage with high school students learning French and Humanities.

The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor of Education and a valid BC teaching certificate, with demonstrated fluency in French. This role encompasses teaching Junior/Senior French and Junior Humanities, while emphasizing a diverse and inclusive educational environment. You will need a strong capability for using trauma-informed practices to support all students’ learning journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Junior and Senior French as well as Junior Humanities

• Foster an engaging and inclusive classroom

• Employ competency-based assessment methods

• Integrate appropriate technology in teaching

• Work collaboratively on Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education and current BC teaching certification

• Degree or major in French preferred

• Experience with differentiated instructional strategies

• Deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

• Knowledge of Indigenous cultural integration in education
