Secondary Science Teacher

Position: Secondary Science Teacher Opportunity
Join School District No. 57 as a Science 9 & 10 Teacher at Ecole Duchess Park for the first semester. Candidates with assessment experience and trauma-informed instruction are preferred.

This limited duration contract is a 0.5714 FTE position, requiring a valid BC Teaching Certificate. Successful candidates will demonstrate methods to integrate Indigenous traditions in teaching and create an inclusive classroom. The focus lies in enhancing both academic and social-emotional learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Science 9 & 10 courses effectively

• Apply innovative assessment methods

• Incorporate local Indigenous culture into teachings

• Develop strong student-teacher relationships

• Employ technology to support diverse learning needs

Requirements:

• BC Teaching Certificate (or proof of application)

• Experience in inquiry and experiential learning

• Skills in promoting social and emotional growth

• Strong organizational and classroom management skills

• Valid driver's license for potential travel
