Indigenous Health Education Coordinator

Elevate Indigenous health education with Northern Health as an Education Coordinator. You'll foster collaboration with teams and communities to build trust, cultural safety, and equitable services.

The Education Coordinator will report to the Regional Lead for Cultural Safety & Anti-Indigenous Racism Education. This role emphasizes collaboration with various departments and Indigenous community partners to create effective educational programs. You'll engage with leaders to promote cultural safety, respect for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, while working to eradicate Anti-Indigenous racism across services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate educational opportunities for Indigenous health

• Collaborate with Northern Health departments and community partners

• Advise leaders on promoting progressive leadership in cultural safety

• Establish a network of Indigenous subject matter experts

• Facilitate contributions from elders and educators in programming

Requirements:

• Preference for Indigenous candidates with relevant ancestry

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Experience in educational program development

• Knowledge of Indigenous health issues

• Commitment to anti-racism and cultural safety
