WOODLAND HILLS SCHOOL DISTRICT

POSITION TITLE: Elementary Assistant Principal

LOCATION: Edgewood Elementary Steam Academy

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid certification as a Principal.
  • Five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Previous administrative experience preferred.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assist the principal in the resolution of discipline problems, and maintain records of any action taken to ensure that the discipline policy is administered in a fair and just manner and an optimum learning environment is created.
  • Collaborate with the faculty in the enforcement and implementation of the rules and other regulations of the student code of conduct to effect positive student behavior in the school.
  • Provide documentation and suggestions to the principal regarding the discipline of any student that will allow the principal and/or assistant principal to determine the disciplinary action to be administered to the student.
  • Offer testimony with regard to any discipline problem presented at hearings.
  • Conduct research on discipline in order to make recommendations to the principal for revising discipline policy and procedures, and maintain student disciplinary records for the principal.
  • Oversee all matters of student attendance and make recommendations to the principal for the resolution of chronic attendance problems.
  • Develop and maintain a liaison with community and government agencies regarding problems relating to drug abuse, truancy, and other issues.
  • Assist with the dissemination of information regarding school and district programs, policies, and procedures to keep the various publics served by the school aware of the school's activities.
  • Participate in the coordination, implementation, and supervision of the programs and student activities of the school.
  • Represent the school at community activities, in public service organizations, and at other professional meetings.
  • Serve as a member of the building administrative/management team and participate as a member of the District's administrative/management team.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary, work schedule, evaluation and other conditions of employment are in accordance with current Act 93 agreement.
