Cultural Safety Coordinator

Position: Cultural Safety Coordinator Northern Health
Take on the role of Education Coordinator in Indigenous Health at Northern Health, located in Prince George. Focus on building inclusive educational programs that emphasize cultural safety and anti-racism initiatives.

Reporting to the Regional Lead, you will collaborate with Indigenous community partners and various health teams to develop education strategies.

Your role is integral in equipping leaders to uphold cultural respect and equitable practices for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. The combination of education and Indigenous methods will enhance the effectiveness of the training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate educational opportunities across health departments

• Engage Indigenous experts in program development

• Implement trauma-informed training to enhance community relationships

• Analyze training needs and track learning accomplishments

• Foster relationships with Indigenous partners for collaborative initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and three years experience in health education

• Recognition of lived experience alongside formal training

• Strong skills in curriculum development and facilitation

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Ability to travel for program implementation
