Join School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) as a Fraser Lake Indigenous Education Support. Assist Indigenous students with their academic and emotional needs in a casual role.

As a Casual Indigenous Education Advocate, your role includes providing essential support to Indigenous students through cultural, academic, and emotional channels. Collaborating closely with teachers, you will be instrumental in promoting student success and facilitating effective communication with families. Your advocacy will reflect in regular administrative reporting to the Indigenous Education Department, enhancing collaboration and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver cultural and emotional support to students

• Serve as a positive role model in Indigenous culture

• Collaborate with educational staff for student needs

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians

• Advocate for students in school-based discussions

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 or Dogwood Certificate

• Two years of related post-secondary studies required

• Minimum six months of experience with Indigenous students

• Familiarity with local Indigenous community dynamics

• Driver’s abstract and valid BC Class 5 License
