Accessibility Assistant

Position: Accessibility Assistant for Students
Support students with disabilities in the classroom as an Accessibility Assistant at your local college. Collaborate closely with the Accessibility Advisor to ensure educational accessibility.

This role requires a proactive individual to assist students with disabilities, taking notes and providing logistical support during classes and field trips. You will help implement accommodation plans, assist with adaptive technologies, and maintain open communication with students and faculty. A positive work atmosphere is essential as you work alongside a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take concise lecture notes for classroom participation

• Assist students as a reader or scribe as needed

• Invigilate exams and ensure accessible learning environments

• Identify and report issues with accommodation plans

• Create and organize accessible documents for use

Requirements:

• High School completion with advanced courses preferred

• Minimum 6 months experience with individuals with disabilities

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Familiarity with adaptive technologies useful

• Proficiency in MS Office and touch typing skills
