UNCERTIFIED TEACHERS TEACHING ON CALL IN MACKENZIE, BC - SD No. 57

Our District is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work as CASUAL Uncertified Teachers Teaching on Call in Mackenzie, BC. Applicant swill preferably have a minimum of three years of post‑secondary education at the university level, along with a variety of recent experiences working with either children or teens in a coaching, mentoring or employment capacity.

This posting is specific to individuals willing to work in the rural community of Mackenzie, B.C., located 185 kms. north of Prince George, BC. It is a town of approximately 3700 people.

Applicants must be prepared to work on a casual on call basis in any school in their geographical area. A reliable vehicle/transportation is essential to this role.

Applicants with assessment and trauma-informed practice experience are preferred.

The successful applicant must have:

• Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and/or experience in working with children.
• understanding of inclusionary, differentiation and assessment practices.
• Knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation.
• Understanding how to support the social emotional regulation of children.
• A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment and evidence of strong organization and ability to manage groups of children.
• A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
• commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into your work environment.
• The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community.
• A current, valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel as required.

• Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC;
  Up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country.
• Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 - $95,681. Salary is based on TQS and prior experience.
• Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in Dental, Extended Health, and Group Life Insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE
