Position: TTUC 1st year UNBC B.Ed. Students (must be enrolled in the B.Ed program)

UNCERTIFIED TEACHERS TEACHING ON CALL - 1st YEAR

B.ED. STUDENTS- SD No. 57 - PRINCE GEORGE, BC

Our District is seeking enthusiastic 1st year UNBC

B.Ed. students to work as CASUAL Uncertified Teachers Teaching on Call in the Prince George area, which includes rural area schools such as Nukko Lake, Giscome, Hixon, and Beaverly.

Applicants must be prepared to work on a casual on call basis in any school in the geographical area of Prince George which includes a radius of approximately 65 kms. (i.e. Blackburn, Buckhorn, Pineview, Hixon, Nukko Lake, Beaverly etc.). A reliable vehicle/transportation is essential to this role.

Qualifications And Experience

The successful applicant must have:

  • Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
  • Evidence of appropriate qualifications and/or experience in working with children.
  • understanding of inclusionary, differentiation and assessment practices.
  • Knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Understanding how to support the social emotional regulation of children.
  • A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment and evidence of strong organization and ability to manage groups of children.
  • A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
  • commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into your work environment.
  • The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community.
  • A current, valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel as required.

Compensation
  • Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC;
    Up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country.
  • Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 - $95,681. Salary is based on TQS and prior experience.
  • Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in Dental, Extended Health, and Group Life Insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE.

School District No.57 resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nations, McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Simpcw First Nations.

Geographically we expand from Mackenzie, through Prince George, to McBride and Valemount. We serve 41 schools: 32 Elementary schools, 8 Secondary schools and 1 District Learning Support center for alternative and alternate learning opportunities.
