At Stenberg College, we are committed to educating compassionate professionals who make a meaningful difference in their communities. We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Health Care Assistant (HCA) program team as a Lead
Lab Instructor
.

Reporting to the Manager of Lab and Simulation, the Lead Lab Instructor plays a key role in delivering high-quality
, student-centered lab and simulation learning experiences. This position is ideal for a healthcare professional who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and supporting student success in a hands‑on learning environment.

  • Employment Type: Part‑time, Contract
  • Location: Prince George, BC
  • Compensation: $36.05/hour (entry‑level rate)
  • Start Date: December 7, 2026 - January 15, 2027

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
    • Regular

      Hours:

      Most days are 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    • Lab Days:Start times vary, occasionally beginning at 2:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.
    • Two Testing Days:Typically run from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Schedule details will be discussed during the interview and adjustments made where possible.

What You Will Do:

Instruction & Student Support

  • Deliver engaging lab and simulation sessions aligned with course outcomes and industry standards
  • Demonstrate clinical procedures using approved checklists and current best practices
  • Support student learning through feedback, coaching, and skill development
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams to review course materials, lab schedules, and learning outcomes
  • Coordinate with Lab Assistants to prepare for lab sessions and ensure proper setup
  • Maintain lab organization and adhere to safety and operational guidelines

Testing & Evaluation

  • Plan and coordinate lab testing schedules and logistics
  • Lead and oversee lab testing sessions, including briefing and debriefing testers and students
  • Evaluate student performance using standardized assessment tools
  • Address student feedback and appeals in accordance with academic policies

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate attendance, student records, and evaluation documentation
  • Communicate student progress and outcomes with internal stakeholders
  • Participate in faculty meetings, evaluations, and campus events
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and program development

Who You Are:

  • You are a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) and have current full registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant clinical experience
    , preferably in:
    • Geriatric care and/or complex care
    • Home support or multi‑level care settings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current clinical practices and standards
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate adult learners
  • Experience in teaching or curriculum delivery is an asset
