Infrastructure Sub‑Sector Lead (Western Canada)

As our new Infrastructure Sub‑Sector Lead (Western Canada), you will build strong relationships within SLR’s existing client base, grow the business, and position SLR for the future in the evolving landscape of infrastructure advancements and investment. Clients of interest include provincial and municipal governments, ports, rail, airports, and construction and engineering firms that serve these groups.
Responsibilities- Lead the Western Canada infrastructure sector by developing and implementing strategies to expand services while enhancing our market presence and client portfolio.
- Support key proposals and contribute to the development and implementation of service line, business sector, and client business development plans.
- Identify trends and create a long‑term strategy that positions SLR with key clients and key portions of the market, providing sustainable growth.
- Establish and lead a client management team for key target clients, helping them grow and build management skills.
- Work with technical disciplines to identify skill gaps, actively mentor, build, and recruit the technical expertise needed to fulfil the growth plan.
- Champion an integrated services approach, driving growth opportunities for the full suite of SLR services.
- Develop strategic partnerships and strong working relationships with industry leaders and stakeholders across SLR.
- Survey client needs, developing a detailed understanding of project objectives, scope and ideal outcomes.
- Serve as the primary contact on key issues, providing perspective and feedback to SLR delivery teams.
- Generate ongoing strategies for improving client satisfaction and sector growth.
- Stay informed on industry trends and market issues, providing reports, analysis and recommendations where relevant.
- Lead teams and facilitate successful program and project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC and client satisfaction.

- Salary range for this position is $130,000 – $160,000. Final compensation will be commensurate with education, professional designation, experience, internal parity and location.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience or a related discipline;
Master’s degree preferred. - 15+ years of experience as an environmental consultant in the environmental services and infrastructure sector.
- Deep knowledge of the infrastructure sector required, with a significant client network.
- Experience building and implementing a business growth strategy, and project‑management delivery.
- Extensive knowledge of technical disciplines such as ecology, acoustics/vibration, air quality, construction monitoring, stakeholder engagement, climate resiliency planning, contaminated sites, environmental permitting and environmental health & safety.
- Working knowledge of federal, provincial, municipal and industry‑specific regulations and guidelines.
- Experience managing multi‑disciplinary project teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed for leadership events, conferences and client meetings.
