Environmental Field Technician – Remediation Program Management (RPM)
An exciting opportunity for an Environmental Field Technician to join our Remediation Program Management (RPM) team based in British Columbia. In this role, you will support a wide range of remediation projects, including work on contaminated and oil and gas sites, while contributing directly to the protection of communities and the environment. You will work alongside a diverse group of engineers, scientists, and technical professionals on meaningful projects across the region.
Responsibilities- Prepare and adhere to site‑specific health and safety plans to mitigate or eliminate risks to workers, clients, and the public.
- Conduct fieldwork including groundwater monitoring, soil and groundwater sampling, drilling investigations, and test pit excavations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed field notes and assist with data entry and report preparation.
- Identify and report potential and existing site hazards, near‑loss incidents, and loss incidents.
- Supervise subcontractors performing ground disturbance, drilling, surveying, and groundwater monitoring well installations.
- Oversee remedial contractors, including directing remedial excavations, waste tracking, and progress reporting.
- Coordinate project documentation, subcontractors, and equipment required for field programs.
- Perform assigned work tasks efficiently and accurately while adhering to regulatory and industry standards.
- Diploma in environmental or geological technology.
- Experience with soil and groundwater sampling in field environments.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and a safety‑conscious mindset.
- Ability and willingness to work in the field, including remote locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and ability to work collaboratively in team settings.
- Valid driver’s licence.
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $48,700 – $65,500
MB & ON: $44,500 – $62,100
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $44,000 – $59,300
